At MEWS Matriculation Higher Secondary School (MEWS), discipline is regarded as the foundation of good character and successful learning. The school believes that a disciplined environment helps students grow with responsibility, respect, and integrity. Student Code Of Conduct

Students at MEWS are expected to maintain exemplary behavior inside and outside the school. Every student must:

  • Be respectful toward teachers, staff, and peers.
  • Maintain honesty, cleanliness, and personal discipline.
  • Follow Islamic etiquette, manners, and moral values.
  • Complete classwork, homework, and assignments on time.
  • Take care of school property and maintain cleanliness.
  • Move responsibly within the campus and avoid unruly behavior.
  • Represent the school with dignity at all times.
  • Wear the prescribed school uniform neatly.
  • Be punctual and attend all school events and celebrations.

Damaging property, using inappropriate language, or violating school norms will result in disciplinary action.

Attendance Rules
  • Daily attendance is mandatory for all students.
  • Absence must be supported by a leave letter or medical certificate.
  • Attendance is compulsory on National Festivals, school celebrations, and special programmes.
  • Habitual absence, unjustified leave, or late coming will be viewed seriously.
  • Students must not leave the school premises without permission.
  • Parents must avoid sending children to school when they are unwell.

Regular attendance ensures academic continuity and disciplined learning habits.

General Discipline Rules

MEWS maintains a strict code of discipline to ensure a safe and orderly campus.

  • Students must carry the school handbook daily.
  • Respect school property – breaking, scratching, or misusing materials is prohibited.
  • Damages, even if accidental, must be reported immediately.
  • Writing on walls, desks, or furniture is strictly forbidden.
  • Personal belongings like valuable items, expensive watches, or electronics must not be brought.
  • Students are responsible for safeguarding their books, bags, and stationery.
  • Any collective damage in a classroom will result in shared responsibility.

Disciplinary actions may include warnings, fines, parent meetings, or suspension for repeated misconduct.

Use Of English Policy

To promote language fluency and global communication skills:

  • Students must speak in English within the school campus, except during language classes.
  • Teachers and staff reinforce English-speaking habits through conversations and activities.
  • Use of foul, disrespectful, or unparliamentary language is strictly prohibited.
  • Speaking in English enhances confidence, clarity, and academic performance.

This policy helps students develop strong communication skills for higher studies and future careers.

Mobile Phone Restrictions

Mobile phones are strictly prohibited for all students.

  • If a student brings a mobile phone, it will be *confiscated immediately.
  • Students are not allowed to use the school’s office phone without permission.
  • No calls will be connected to students during school hours.
  • Violation of this rule will result in strict disciplinary measures.

The aim is to maintain a distraction-free, safe learning environment.

Examination Rules

Exams and tests are conducted with complete fairness and discipline.

  • Students must attend all tests and examinations.
  • Using unfair means during an exam will result in:
    • Zero marks for the subject
    • A strict warning
    • Possible suspension for repeated offenses
  • Students must carry the required stationery and follow seating arrangements.
  • Report cards must be signed by parents during PTMs.
  • Absence during exams must be supported with valid medical proof.
